FMGE exam dates — previous years

The pattern is consistent: the June session in summer, the December session in January of the following year.

December sessions consistently show higher pass rates than June sessions. More preparation time between finishing MBBS and the January exam is the most likely reason. If you have a choice between sessions, December is the stronger bet.

How registration works

1

Get your EC first

Apply for an Eligibility Certificate from the NMC at nmc.org.in before anything else. Without it you cannot complete the FMGE application, and processing takes time.

2

Create your account

Register at natboard.edu.in when the bulletin is released. Keep your login credentials safe — you will use them for every future session.

3

Submit documents

Upload your passport, foreign degree with Embassy attestation, NMC Eligibility Certificate, and photograph. Everything must match your application details exactly.

4

Pay and confirm

Pay ₹6,195 online and save the confirmation. The fee is non-refundable. Watch for any NBEMS notice about an edit window after submission.

Things that trip people up

  • The December session exam is held in January of the following year, not in December itself. The December label refers to the registration window, not the exam date. Plan your preparation timeline accordingly.
  • Your Eligibility Certificate from the NMC must be valid and ready before you apply. Do not wait for the application window to open to start the EC process — begin it months in advance.
  • NBEMS can and does revise tentative dates. Confirm directly at natboard.edu.in before booking travel, taking leave from work, or rearranging an internship.
  • The application form can only be submitted once. Review everything, especially your degree documents and passport details, before you submit. Errors can only be corrected during the specific edit windows NBEMS opens.
