FMGE Results and Pass Rates

NBEMS declared the FMGE June 2026 result on 7 July 2026, for the paper held on 28 June 2026. Of 36,300 candidates who sat the examination, 4,635 qualified and 31,645 did not, giving a pass rate of 12.77%. Twenty results were withheld. Scorecards were available from 16 July 2026 and expire on 16 January 2027. The previous session, FMGE December 2025, was held on 17 January 2026 and declared on 17 February 2026: 42,872 candidates appeared, 10,262 qualified and 32,604 failed, a pass rate of 23.37%. June 2026 was therefore a materially harder session than the one before it, with roughly 6,500 fewer candidates appearing and fewer than half as many qualifying. The pass mark itself does not move between sessions: it is a fixed 150 out of 300, so the rate reflects the cohort and the paper rather than any change in the standard required.

The June 2026 pass rate of 12.77% is the lowest June session result in recent years. Fewer candidates appeared than in December 2025 (36,300 against 42,872), but significantly fewer qualified. That reflects a harder paper, not a weaker pool of candidates. Difficulty variation between sessions is the primary driver of these swings, not the cutoff, which stays fixed at 150/300.

Why most candidates fail — and what it actually takes
FMGE is a 300-question exam covering 20 subjects across the whole MBBS syllabus. Most candidates who fail do not fail because they do not know medicine. They fail because the Indian exam pattern differs from what they studied abroad — the question style, the integration of concepts, and the time pressure of locked sections are all unfamiliar.
The gap between June and December pass rates is not random. December candidates have more time after their MBBS results to prepare in an exam-specific way. The candidates who pass consistently are the ones who practised previous year questions in the exact format, found their weak subjects through analytics, and corrected them before exam day — not the ones who simply covered more content.

Doctors who cleared FMGE with Reflex
These are foreign medical graduates — some who failed once before, some attempting for the first time. What they share is using previous year question practice and subject analytics to find and fix their weak areas.
I had failed FMGE twice before I found Reflex. Not because I did not know medicine, I did. The subject-wise accuracy breakdown showed me I was losing 11 marks in Pharmacology alone. Three months of fixing that specific gap and I cleared on my third attempt.
I graduated from a university in Georgia and the FMGE pattern felt completely different from what I studied. Reflex's PYQ bank showed me exactly how the exam frames questions. Cleared it on my first attempt.
Studied MBBS in China, came back unsure how to prep for FMGE. The 6,000+ questions meant I never ran out of practice. Passed comfortably.
I came from a Russia MBBS background and the Indian exam pattern was my weak point. Reflex bridged that gap. The daily practice habit it built is what got me through.
The question style in China is very different from how FMGE asks. Reading the same subject twice got me nowhere. Practising 40 PYQs a day through Reflex, with the explanation of why the answer is what it is, made the Indian pattern make sense. Passed first attempt.

What I liked most was the difficulty tagging, I could focus on the hard questions in the last month. The mock tests felt exactly like the real thing.
Affordable compared to everything else out there, and honestly more focused. I recommend it to every FMG I know who's preparing.
I tracked my score in the Reflex calculator after every mock. In November I was at 128. By January I was at 167. Seeing the number move kept me at it every day. That consistency was the difference.
After one failed attempt on my own, I switched to Reflex FMGE. The subject-wise question practice rebuilt my confidence. The explanations are clear and to the point.

What is the FMGE pass mark?
The FMGE pass mark is 150 out of 300, or 50%. It is a fixed qualifying mark, not a rank or a percentile: everyone who reaches it qualifies, however many that turns out to be, which is why the pass rate moves so far between sessions while the mark itself does not.
The mark applies to everyone. There is no percentile, no rank-based selection and no category relaxation — General, OBC, SC, ST and OCI candidates all need 150 or more. It has not moved between sessions.
There is also no negative marking. A correct answer earns +1; a wrong answer and an unattempted one both score 0. Leaving a question blank guarantees nothing from it, so there is no scoring reason to skip one.
Can an FMGE result be re-evaluated?
No. There is no re-evaluation, re-checking or re-totalling of FMGE responses, and NBEMS does not entertain requests for it. This is long-standing stated policy, not a per-session decision, so there is no window to apply within and no fee to pay. A candidate who does not qualify reattempts at a later sitting — the next is on October 31, 2026.
That is a separate question from whether papers and answer keys are published. NBEMS has not historically released official FMGE papers or answer keys, though transparency measures are under discussion — what FMGs won from NBEMS sets out what was actually conceded and what it does not cover.
Passed? What happens next
A pass is not yet a licence to practise. You apply for provisional registration with a State Medical Council, complete the 12-month CRMI, and then apply for permanent registration — that last step is what lets you practise independently. From July 16, 2026, log in at natboard.edu.in with your Application Number and Date of Birth to download the individual scorecard with the full breakdown.

NBEMS removes scorecards six months after issue. Download and save yours before January 16, 2027 — requests after expiry are rejected.

December sessions consistently show higher pass rates than June. With five or more months of preparation time you have enough runway, if you start now and focus on the right things.

Questions about the result
Go to natboard.edu.in and log in with your Application Number and Date of Birth. The download link is available from July 16, 2026. The scorecard shows your subject-wise marks, total score and qualifying status. Save it before January 16, 2027 — scorecards are removed after six months and NBEMS does not reissue them.
The result PDFs may still be accessible at natboard.edu.in under Results or Notices, but NBEMS does not maintain a permanent public archive. Individual scorecards from older sessions have expired, as they were available for only six months from issue. For a duplicate scorecard or pass certificate, contact NBEMS through their official query portal at exam.natboard.edu.in.
The online scorecard cannot be used directly for registration. You need the official FMGE Pass Certificate, which NBEMS issues in person after identity and credential verification, and it announces that schedule separately on natboard.edu.in. Once you have the pass certificate, apply for provisional or permanent registration with the NMC or your State Medical Council.
In June 2026 the results of 20 candidates were withheld. This usually happens because of pending face ID verification, court proceedings, security clearances or eligibility queries. NBEMS communicates the reason individually by email, so check the address you registered with and contact NBEMS through exam.natboard.edu.in if nothing has arrived.
The next FMGE exam is on 31 October 2026, an additional sitting NBEMS confirmed in a notice dated 28 August 2026 that also moved the exam to three sessions a year. Its information bulletin has not been published yet, so the registration window is not known. There is no limit on the number of attempts, so you can appear every session until you qualify.
