FMGE 2024 pass percentage, country by country

486 universities across 52 countries, 79,000 candidates, 20,382 passes. These are the 2024 annual figures, covering that year's June and December sittings together — not a single session. Tap a country to see its universities.

Sort

A rate is shown only where at least 10 candidates sat. Below that the counts are shown on their own — a university where three sat and two passed is not “66.7%” in any useful sense, and printing it would let it outrank a university with a thousand candidates.

Which years this covers

2024 only. NBEMS has published this report annually since 2019, and the earlier years are being worked through. A year is added here only once its university totals reconcile against NBEMS's own national result figures for that year — for 2024, the passes match exactly.

2019–2023 are not published here yet.

Those reports have been read but their totals do not yet reconcile to NBEMS's national figures, which means the extraction is still missing rows. Publishing a year in that state would mean publishing numbers we cannot stand behind, so they wait. Checked at natboard.edu.in on 18 September 2026.

A university is listed because candidates from it sat FMGE — that is not approval or endorsement by NMC, which publishes no list of foreign universities. Your NMC Eligibility Certificate is what settles whether your own qualification counts.

FMGE 2024 pass rate: frequently asked questions

It depends entirely on cohort size, which is why this page never shows a percentage without the counts behind it. A country where four candidates sat and three passed will show 75% and tell you nothing; a country with several thousand candidates at 20% is the meaningful figure. Sort by candidates appeared before reading any rate.

Because fewer than ten of their candidates sat the exam that year. A rate computed on three or four people is noise, and printing it would let a tiny institute outrank a large one in any sort. Those rows show the counts instead, which is the honest form of the same information.

No, and the two are unrelated. An institute appears in this table only because candidates who studied there sat FMGE. NMC does not approve or endorse any list of foreign universities. What matters for your own eligibility is that your qualification meets the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021 and that your institution is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.

Per year. NBEMS publishes this report annually, covering both of that year’s sittings together, so a figure here is not comparable to a single June or December pass rate. The 2024 numbers on this page cover the June and December 2024 sittings combined.

From NBEMS’s own "Country/Institute Wise Performance in FMGE" report for 2024, published at natboard.edu.in. Nothing here is estimated or modelled. Every row was checked against the percentage NBEMS printed beside it, and the totals were reconciled against NBEMS’s national result figures for the year.

Because 2024 is the only year whose extracted figures currently reconcile to NBEMS’s published national totals. Earlier reports are being worked through, and a year is added only once its institute totals match the national ones. Publishing a year that does not reconcile would mean publishing numbers we cannot stand behind.
