What the June 2026 session tells you about December

The June session is the closest guide to how the December one will run. Its information bulletin landed on 21 April, applications ran to 11 May, admit cards appeared on 24 June, and the exam was sat on 28 June — roughly ten weeks from bulletin to exam, with the admit card about four days out. Expect December to follow the same shape.

Every FMGE session since 2022, and how many passed

June sessions run harder than December ones, consistently. That is the single most useful pattern in this table for anyone choosing which sitting to target.

FMGE October 2026 Exam Date: 31 October 2026

The 31 October 2026 exam date comes straight from the NBEMS notice of 28 August 2026, so it is confirmed rather than expected. Everything around it is genuinely open: this sitting was announced roughly two months before it happens, and NBEMS has not yet published its information bulletin. The table below marks what is known and what is not, rather than filling the gaps from the usual pattern — that pattern was built on two sittings a year and no longer describes this one.

One naming quirk matters here. The "December session" is named after its registration window, not its exam date. The exam itself is held in January of the following year. The December 2025 session exam was held on January 17, 2026. The December 2024 session exam was held on January 12, 2025. That naming still applies to the sitting NBEMS is rescheduling, which is why you will see it called December 2026 on pages that quote a January date. It does not apply to 31 October 2026, which is an additional sitting named for the month it is actually held in.

Before you apply: eligibility and exam pattern

Two things decide whether the December date is even relevant to you, and both are covered in full on the exam page rather than repeated here: whether you are eligible, and what the paper looks like.

In short, you need Indian citizenship or an OCI card, a primary medical qualification from a recognised foreign institution, and an NMC Eligibility Certificate. The paper is 300 questions across two parts, 150 to pass, no negative marking, with each part split into locked 50-question sections since May 2024. FMGE 2026 Registration Dates

The registration window for a sitting is announced in that sitting’s NBEMS information bulletin and nowhere else. For the 31 October 2026 exam that bulletin has not been published and no date has been given for it, so the window is not yet known. Check weekly at natboard.edu.in — the bulletin carries the exact dates, the application URL, the exam city list and every eligibility deadline. Anyone publishing precise registration dates for this sitting ahead of it is guessing.

Do not wait for the bulletin to begin your NMC Eligibility Certificate. It is a separate application to a separate body at nmc.org.in, processing takes weeks, and it is the most common reason a candidate misses the sitting they were aiming at. Start it the moment your MBBS results are declared.

FMGE Exam Day Schedule and Guidelines

FMGE is a full-day examination. The fmge exam day schedule timing below is based on the June 2026 session pattern.

What to bring, and what to leave behind:

Report to the Reporting Counter 30 minutes before your scheduled test time, which is 6:30 AM for the standard morning slot. Candidates who arrive after the session starts may not be permitted to appear.

Finger biometrics and a photograph are captured at the test centre during registration. Face ID is verified again when you collect your FMGE pass certificate. The photograph in your application form must match your current appearance, so use a recent one.

Any suspicious behaviour leads to immediate cancellation of candidature. Follow all NBEMS instructions at the test centre without exception.

FMGE Admit Card 2026, Result and Scorecard

The FMGE scorecard and the FMGE pass certificate are two different documents. The scorecard shows your score and qualifying status and is available online for six months, which is the fmge scorecard download date window. The pass certificate is the official document used for NMC registration, is issued by NBEMS separately, and is valid for five years. You need the pass certificate, not the scorecard, when applying for medical registration.

After receiving your FMGE pass certificate, apply for provisional or permanent registration at nmc.org.in. Documents required include the FMGE pass certificate, your original MBBS degree, transcripts, internship completion certificate, embassy-attested documents, passport, and recent photographs. The NMC registration process typically takes 2 to 6 months.
