Who is it for?

Yes. You can start on a 3-day free trial with full access and no credit card. The FMGE score calculator on this site is free to everyone with no account at all.

How do I create an account?

Download the app from either store and sign up with your mobile number or email address. Verification is by OTP, and the free trial begins as soon as the account is created.

How is the FMGE scored?

Accepted Answer

The paper has 300 questions worth 300 marks. Each correct answer scores +1, and wrong or unattempted answers score 0. There is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank can only cost you.

What is the pass mark?

You need 150 out of 300, a flat 50% aggregate. There is no subject-wise minimum, no percentile, no rank, and no category relaxation. Every candidate needs the same 150 marks.

How are the questions distributed across subjects?

Part A carries 100 questions across seven pre and para-clinical subjects, and Part B carries 200 across thirteen clinical subjects. General Medicine and General Surgery are the two heaviest. The full table is on the score calculator page.

How often is the exam held?

FMGE is conducted twice a year, in June and in December. Exact dates, application windows and result timelines are announced by NBEMS each session, so check their notification rather than relying on any third-party page, including ours.

Has the exam pattern changed?

The scoring rules have not changed. Since May 2024 the exam uses a time-bound section format where each 150-question part is split into three locked blocks of 50 questions and 50 minutes. Once a block closes you cannot return to it. Total questions, marks and the 150 pass mark are unchanged.

Will NExT replace the FMGE?

The National Exit Test is legislated to eventually replace the FMGE, but no confirmed rollout date has been announced for foreign medical graduates. FMGE remains the operative exam, and we will update this page if that changes.

I studied abroad. Will the questions match what I was taught?

The syllabus follows the Indian MBBS curriculum, which is why graduates trained elsewhere often find the pattern unfamiliar even when they know the subject well. Our explanations start from the concept being tested rather than from the correct option, so a difference in how a topic was taught does not become a gap in your score.

How should I use previous year questions?

Yes. Enter your subject-wise correct answers from any FMGE mock and it shows your total, your pass or fail status against the 150 cutoff, and which subjects are weakest. It is free and needs no account.

I am preparing while working. Is that workable?

It is the common case among our users. Practice is broken into subjects and topics rather than long lectures, so a session fits into whatever time you have, and progress carries across devices.

What plans are available?

Three, differing only in how long access lasts: Starter for six months, Pro for one year, and Elite for two years. Every plan unlocks exactly the same content. Current prices are on the pricing page.

Which plan should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Pro is the one most candidates take, because a year covers two exam cycles. If a first attempt does not go the way you hoped you still have access for the next one without paying again. Elite is the lowest cost per month.

How do I pay, and can I pay from outside India?

You can subscribe through the checkout on this site or through your App Store or Google Play account. Any card or payment method your store account already accepts will work, wherever you are studying.

Can I get a refund?

We refund 100% of the fee if the request reaches us within three days of payment. Payments for offline products such as books are not eligible. The full terms are in the refund policy.

What happens when my plan ends?

Access stops at the end of the period you paid for. Your account and saved work stay in place, so renewing later picks up where you left off rather than starting over.

How quickly will I get a reply?

Within one working day. We answer Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm IST, and messages sent on a Sunday are picked up first thing Monday.

I found a mistake in a question or explanation.

Please tell us. Include the subject and roughly where you saw it and it goes to the faculty who wrote that explanation. Corrections from users are one of the main ways the question bank gets better.

I am having trouble with a payment or my subscription.

Send the email address you signed up with and, if the payment went through, the transaction reference. That is everything we need to find the account and sort it out in one reply.
